Story

I'm originally from Houston, TX, and my mom and dad thought it would be either a character building experience or really funny to uproot me in my sixteenth year and move to LA. Unfortunately I'm not speaking of the left coast but the other LA - Lower Alabama. Think about going from the 4th largest city in the U.S. to a town that didn't even have a high school. Culture shock in more ways than one. And I had to share a room with my 11 year old sister (only one hole was put into the drywall that year).

I attended Auburn University and received a BFA in Technical Theatre. You see, I had convinced my parents that theatre techies, as opposed to actors, actually work. Auburn also provided me with my largest live audience so far. Over 85,000 people saw me "duke it out" with our school mascot, Aubie, as part of special half-time festivities.

I plied my craft as a Lighting Designer/Master Electrician for many regional and summer theatres, but always seemed to come back to my first love - performing. That led me to... The Land of the Mouse! Orlando provided me with a great training ground for my improv comedy skills, some fantastic musical theatre experiences, my first foray into playing in a rock band, and some killer bartending skills. While in Orlando, I had the pleasure of working in various entertainment capacities at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Pleasure Island and Universal Studios Florida.

A part time piano gig turned into more than a decade of serving at two of the largest Methodist churches in the nation. That gave me the opportunity to hone my writing and vocal arranging skills and really concentrate on interpreting a song through piano and voice. Check out some of my original music. I have had the privilege to share music in the U.S., Canada and Russia - and even got to teach some Master Classes at the Tchaikovsky Musical College.

Currently, I am working as a solo pianist/vocalist and rocking some funk covers with Precautionary Measures, while re-investing in my first love, musical theatre. And keep your eyes peeled and ears open for my new classic rock group coming soon! Sign up on my email list for updates.
